The Ikaruga temple was estsblished by Prince Shotoku and it was prosperous as a branch temple in Horyuji Temple for about 1000 years. It is burned according to the conflict in 1541, and after reconstruction has continued up to now as a temple of the Tendai sect of Buddhism.
