The museum, operated by the West Japan Railway Company, preserves numerous steam locomotives,even operating several of them throughout the year. In Model Train Panorama Room, model trains run on a 16.5mm wide HO gauge track. The trains are 1/80 scale and the control operator uses a central traffic controller with an automatic blocking device to manage the trains.
