Syugakuin rikyu imperial villa (Kyoto Japan)

Rakusi-ken

Rakushi-ken consists of the first and the second room, which had once served as the primary Akenomiya Gosyo(the palace for princess Ake). Facing the south garden lies an extended veranda, which is designed to keep out of rain and glaring sunlight. The sill between the veranda and the room has three wooden grooves for sliding wooden panels and syoji screen.
