Since Okinawa belongs to the subtropical zone, there are many places where a different scene from the mainland in Japan is seen at, and culture differs also from customs. Ryukyu Dynasty followed Okinawa for 450 years to the downfall in 1872. Okinawa became a battlefield of the Pacific War, many human lives were lost, and many cultural properties, such as the Shuri castle of Ryukyu Dynasty, were also lost by war fire.
