Gion Festival is one of the three largest traditional festivals in Japan. The other two are the Kanda festival in Tokyo and Tenjin Festival in Osaka. The Gion Festival lasts from July 1 to 29 as the midsummer celebration of Yasaka Shrine. The main event is Parade of Floats.
