Kyoto Imperial Palace (Japan)

Kogosyo hall

Kogosyo, a place where the Emperor received buke (bannermen under the direct control of Tokugawa shogun) and was also for some rituals. The distinctive building is a blend of architectural elements of shinden-Zukuri style and shoin-zukuri style. It was burned down in 1954 and rebuilt in 1958.
