Great Southern Gate

Hengaku of Dai-Kegon-Ji, which is brand-new in 2006 is live in South Gate is the entrance of Todai-ji Temple. In architectural expression that is said this gate is a Great Buddha scheme introduced from Song Dynasty China in the Kamakura period, it is a daring building. Nio statue who are enshrined in both sides is famous as the work of Kaikei and Unkei. This gate and Nio statue are a national treasure.
