It is said that Mondo Yakujin Temple was opened in 829 by Kukai. The object of worship, which is set in a Yakujin-do hall on the sacred grounds, is one of the three greatest talismans in Japan and is called "Mondo no Yakujin-san". On Jan. 18th and 19th of every year, many visitors who want to pray for "keep off evils" come here.
